The Development Research Day is an annual, inter-disciplinary event bringing together researchers and students interested in development research for a full day of activities at Lund University. The 19 October, the event celebrated 20 years - the very same day as we launched our website!

The day brough together researchers, students, NGO: s and professionals in the aid sector and took place at the Department for Political Science in Lund. The full programme can be found here

Several speakers included Alan AtKisson, Deputy Director-General and Director of Sida. He gave one of three keynote speeches, presenting the historical background to sustainable development and stressing the importance of institutionalising the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in order to achieve them effectively.

The day brought together many interesting discussions and marked the first day of something else – the launch of our website at the Development Research School. Our coordinator, Kristina Jönsson, was most pleased with the launch:

- Now that our website is up and running, we will be able to better communicate our activities and to fulfil our wish to strengthen cooperation and networking within the broad field of development research.
