the un sdgs

We are delighted to announce that the application for our second PhD course now is open for the next semester.  Please note that the application has been extended until the 26 January 5 pm.

The course provides a critical introduction to the governance of sustainable development and the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals. It emphasizes the challenges of implementing the 2030 Agenda with a special focus on low-and middle-income countries and poverty reduction.

Kristina Jönsson is programme coordinator and will, together with Magdalena Bexell and Thomas Hickman at the Department of Political Science at Lund University, oversee the course:

- We are very pleased to hold this course. It provides a great opportunity to get updated on the progress of the SDGs but also to reflect on sustainable development in relation to one’s own research.

The course starts in February 2023 and will consist of three online seminars with a short introductory lecture followed by discussions and presentations. The participants will also have the opportunity to take part in an online workshop-.

Our aim with this course is to bring together a range of different PhD students from different disciplines and countries to create stimulating seminars with various perspectives.

- We also hope that the course will attract a bunch of curios PhD students that can help to bring the discussions on the SDGs forward, Kristina Jönsson elaborates.
